HANUMAN
Group Dance: 90 minutes
HANUMAN is an original Bharatanatyam production by Vishwa Shanthi Performing Arts that explores the timeless journey of one of Indian mythology’s most revered figures. Through dance, music, and theatrical storytelling, the production traces Hanuman’s evolution from strength and courage to devotion, wisdom, and self-realization.
Featuring a custom musical score composed in India and performed by an ensemble of twenty dancers, the work moves beyond mythology as narrative alone. Hanuman becomes a symbol of the human quest for purpose, resilience, faith, and the discovery of one’s highest potential.
Rooted in the classical vocabulary of Bharatanatyam while embracing large-scale ensemble choreography, the production weaves together moments of grandeur and introspection. Through dynamic movement, evocative music, and layered storytelling, audiences are invited to reflect on the transformative power of devotion and the limitless possibilities that emerge when strength is guided by humility and service.
Presented to a full house in April 2026 at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center, HANUMAN stands as a testament to Vishwa Shanthi Performing Arts’ commitment to creating innovative, thought-provoking works that honor tradition while speaking to contemporary audiences.
