Welcome to the 25th year at Vishwa Shanthi Dance Academy
As we celebrate 25 years of Vishwa Shanthi Dance Academy (VSDA), we reflect on a journey that has been nothing short of extraordinary. This milestone represents not only the joyous celebration of Bharatanatyam but also the growth of a vibrant, diverse community built on the vision and dedication of our founder, Guru Smt. Shreelata Suresh.
In the past 25 years, VSDA has been a bridge, connecting students, parents, and the Bay Area community to the rich traditions of Bharatanatyam through our commitment:
- to artistic excellence by nurturing countless students to discover their joy in dance by helping students connect with Bharatanatyam on a deeply personal and emotional level.
- by inspiring creativity and openness to innovation, where students are encouraged to make space for new possibilities while preserving the traditional essence of Bharatanatyam;
- and to instill a genuine love for the dance form by nurturing curiosity and passion, inspiring the next generation to both learn as well as experience the joy and significance of Bharatanatyam.
To commemorate this special year we embark on a series of programs starting with the auspicious Vijayadasami Pooja on October 12, 2024. Following this we have an exciting year ahead, filled with engaging and enriching activities, including ice cream socials, banquets, adavu-thons, lecture demonstrations, makeup workshops, multi-disciplinary performances, and large-scale dance productions.

INFINITE FACETS – October 26, 2024
We are excited to present Infinite Facets one of our premier dance productions, on October 26th which beautifully showcases the talent and creativity that has emerged from our academy over the years. This unique choreography by artistic director Smt. Shreelata Suresh features her signature fleeting footwork and clean geometry, celebrating the shared human experience through the universal language of dance.
Make-up Workshop for Bharatanatyam Performance with Neeti Solanki
We are thrilled to announce a special opportunity just for you!
Join us on November 9th, 2024, for an exciting Bharatanatyam Makeup Workshop led by Neeti Solanki, one of Bay Area’s premier makeup artists. This is your chance to learn from the best and refine your skills in performance makeup, color theory, costume and jewelry preparation, and backstage management.
Workshop Details:
- Morning Session: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Highlands Recreational Center, San Mateo
- Evening Session: 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Location: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Palo Alto
